An upper-level low pressure has created a severe weather outbreak across the central plains this weekend with tornadoes already touching down from north Texas to Iowa. The risk for severe thunderstorms moves into our area early Sunday morning with the greatest risk for San Antonio coming from 3-8 A.M. While the risk for San Antonio is only marginal (1 out of 5) there can still be isolated severe storms that can bring high winds, large hail, cause flash floods, and the slim possibility for a tornado. Try to take shelter if possible on Saturday night into Sunday morning because these storms can move in very quickly and bring threats such as lightning and hail that can be very harmful. Also, make sure to protect pets and property that will be exposed to damage Sunday morning. Stay safe by checking WeatherWiseSA to stay updated on current alerts and radar. If you see alerts such as: Flash Flood Warning, Severe Thunderstorm Warning, or Tornado Warning, do not hesitate to seek shelter IMMEDIATELY as these mean that a threat has been confirmed in your area.
